Using Lookalike audiences to achieve 10x ROASWith Tweetscrape and Facebook ads

In this guide, we'll be going over how to use Tweetscrape to find lookalike audiences for your Facebook ads. This guide is for ecommerce, SaaS, and other businesses that want to use, or are currently using, Facebook ads to grow their business.

After IOS 14, lookalike audiences are essential to achieve high return on ad spend (ROAS) and lower cost per acquisition (CPA), but many marketers are still struggling to find the right audiences.

With Tweetscrape, you can find lookalike audiences that are 10x more likely to convert than your current audiences.

1. Research your target audience

Ask yourself, who does my ideal customer follow on Twitter? What are they talking about? What are they interested in?

Use the answers to these questions to find niche Twitter accounts that your ideal customer follows and engage with. Ideally you want to find accounts that don't have a lot of followers, but their audience is mostly your ideal customer.

Eg. If I'm selling a product or service to French photographers, I would scrape the followers of accounts like @NikonFR, @CanonFrance or niche french photographers accounts. As a rule of thumb, try to find accounts with less than 50k followers, higher follower count means more noise.

2. Scrape with Tweetscrape

Now that you have idetified a list of potential target accounts, you can use Tweetscrape to scrape their followers.

Make sure that each list is minimum 1000 accounts, and the more lists you can scrape, the better, as we can compare the performance of each list later in our Facebook Ads Manager.

3. Create the lookalike audiences

Now just upload the CSV files from Tweetscrape to Facebook Ads Manager and create a lookalike audience for each list. (Tools > Audiences > Create Audience > Lookalike Audience)

Make sure to set the lookalike audience to 5-9% (broad) and the country to the country you're targeting.

Run a campaign with each lookalike audience for at least 7 days, do not turn them off too early, as it takes time for Facebook to learn. After a week, check the performance of each lookalike audience in your Facebook Ads Manager, and keep the ones that are performing the best.

With this exact method, our customers have been able to achieve ROAS as high as 10x.
